Sweden had been my home for almost 4 years now (counting the days when I was just a tourist). As for my “ 2013 summer ending” get away, I got the chance to go around the country. I was surprise on what I have seen and made me adore Sweden more. I got to know the country more and got to see why it’s one of the top country in the world. A very interesting country that never fails to surprise. Checked out 6 southern cities for 5 days. Though there were rainy days, it didn’t stop us from roaming around.
From Gävle (city where I live) it took us more than 6 hours by train to reach our first stop. Göteborg also know as “The City of Charm”. Yes, it is very charming. Clean, Calm and Captivating.
Second stop was Mellbystrand. One of the prettiest beach in Sweden (or maybe Scandinavia). A very accomodating city and people. We stop by there to visit my man’s brother and we stayed there for few days. But we tour around the nearby cities as well.
Biking to beach was facinating. We passed by very nice villas with cute gardens. As I walked towards the beach, I couldn’t believe I am still in Sweden. I am just used to the cold Sweden and Sweden covered with snow plus I just love the nature.

After being in Mellbystrand for 2 days we decided to take a road trip to near by cities. Every cities have its own identity and I just love their calm and pleasant ambiance .
Boståds was known as one of the prettiest harbor in Sweden and also know because its one of Swedish Open’s (Tennis) venue.

When it started raining we tried to continue on our road trip around the city and we pass by small villages. It feel like I’m on a romantic film as we pass by the “Italian road” and huge farms. I was so overwhelmed that I just wanted to stare at everything rather than take photos :)

Then before we head back to Mellbystrand we went to Laholm one of the smallest city in the country and it’s one of my favorite. Being there feels like you went back in time. It’s so retro.
And speaking of retro, they have a hotel called Retro Hotel where you got the chance to select a room with a special theme.
So, you’ll select an era and you can stay in a room specially decorated with the theme of your chosen era. How cute is that? Talking about time machine.
After ending the days in the south and head to Denmark. We drove to Halmstad. One of the most luxurious city in the south.
Our last stop was Malmo as it was just a few minutes train ride from Copenhagen. We roam around the city for few hours and checked out some of its famous spots.
Going around for 5 days was very tiring but everything was worth it. Realizing I am walking around one of the most wonderful country in the world. I just feel so lucky. I am sure everyone who have been or living in Sweden will agree. And if you haven’t been to Sweden, maybe you should include it to your bucketlist. It is worth seeing.
